I knew you were special

from the first time I met you

you could not see

you could not hear

I smiled and felt a Tear

 

You felt my arms and said "no sleeves"

You gave me your jacket and I smiled again

you looked so frail and so very petite

There was something about you that was so very sweet

 

One Hundred years old

and so very bold

you were in my heart

from the very start

 

I knew the day would come

when I was told you had passed away

a day that God would come and take you to stay

 

On the last time I saw you

you said "Don't ever forget me"

I never will, that could never be

 

You are now with God and I will never forget you

you will always be in my heart

just as you were from the very start
